The K2 CCK Simple Image Gallery bugfix

K2 comes as the Drupal-like content constructor kit for Joomla. A long awaited feature that, some say, will get in the core of next Joomla v.1.6...

But when you install K2 by the book, together with the All Videos plugin and the Simple Image Gallery plugin [both by the same excellent Greek creator] you'll notice that the respective Image Gallery tab in the Item creation interface is either empty or returning an error message. Here's what to do:

1. SFTP in to these paths:

admnistrator/components/com_k2/models/item.php

admnistrator/components/com_k2/views/info/tmpl/default.php

admnistrator/components/com_k2/views/item/view,html.php

components/com_k2/models/item.php components/com_k2/models/item/view.html.php

and change all jw_sig or jw_sigpro > jwsig

If still getting a void, then:

2. Disable the JCE or TinyMCE wysiwyg editors, set it to 'no editor'.

If nothing happens, then:

Have you tried using K2 V2.2 which was released in January 2010. Much improved over previous versions, especially if it was reviewed way back in October

Yes, installed K2 v2.2 on several new pristine sites, then upgraded some old v2.1 to v2.2. It's really neat the upgrading process. No hassle. K2 is indeed the must-have extension for every Joomla site because it brings in the Drupal-like CCK feature, allowing so much needed custom content elements. Plus the unlimited nested categories tree.
