Help, I need to change the welcome to the frontpage title tag in Joomla

We want to help you out with how to change the title tag in Joomla. Yes, we are talking about the frontpage title tag. The one you are "stuck" with when you install Joomla 1.5 or later. This title is "Welcome to the Frontpage". Annoying, isn't it.

It has been on the stairs for quite a while, finally the most recent version of Joomla is available. The Core team announced that the new version was released now. So what does this new release hold? Lots of it has to do with special characters. More specifically we are talking about the PHP "htmlspecialchars" or "htmlentities" commands to convert things like quotes to """, ampersands (&) to "&" and less-than or greater-than () to "". Escaping certain values during output keeps your HTML code valid and, in some cases, can protect you from security attacks.

There are now rumours that the new Joomla 1.6 will be released in June 2009. These are exciting times because the new version of Joomla holds a lot of new improvements compared to Joomla 1.5. Joomla is currently at version 1.5.10 but the new 1.6 will soon be released.
